Disco Arabesquo

Moataz Rageb also known as Disco Arabesquo is a sociologist, DJ, collector of Arabic cassettes and vinyl. He's known for his sold-out 'Disco Arabesquo Night' parties in Amsterdam. He specializes in Arabic-Western cross-over sounds that portray a creative generation searching for a new identity. He selects Arabic sounds of the 90's & 00's South-West Asia, North Africa and its diaspora and edits, mixes and mashes them up. He has reissued an Egyptian 80's disco compilation called 'Sharayet el disco' & Nagat el Sagira's 'Oyoun el Alb' in collaboration with WeWantSounds. On the eponymous label Disco Arabesquo Records he released the 12' vinyl 'Yallah ya ashab' by the Saudi-Irish DJ Moving Still.
