Chris Keulemans

Chris Keulemans (b. 1960, Tunis, Tunisia) is a traveling writer, teacher and moderator, based in Amsterdam. His most recent book of travel stories and essays, 'Verzet' (Resistance), was published in spring 2024. Focusing on the recent struggles for migrant rights and their supporters at the Belarus-Poland border, it also honors the spirit of revolution found in the city squares of Kyiv, Beirut, Tunis, Baghdad, and Jakarta.

Moreover, Chris is the founder of two cultural centers, Perdu and Tolhuistuin, both located in Amsterdam. He has been a guest lecturer and moderator at DAS, Maqam, Borderland Foundation, Salihara, MESS, Georgetown Festival, Central European Forum, Byline Festival, amongst many other places. His essays and reportages have been published in de Groene Amsterdammer, OneWorld, and a wide range of international media outlets.
